The Learning Discipline training facilitator manual includes:
Facilitator’s Guide – The Facilitator’s Guide provides step-by-step instructions for presenting the workshop. The guide is housed in a 3-ring binder for portability and ease of use during presentations. It includes an introduction for the trainer, background material on the subject and handout masters.
Video Segments – The workshop contains many video segments of real life scenes from both child care homes and centers which feature providers working with children and reflecting on their personal and professional life. The segments also include animated graphic segments of the Discipline-Communication-Relationship cycle and informational slides.
Handout Masters – Reproducible handout masters, available in hard copy in the 3-ring binder, and in PDF format on the DVD disc, include workshop activities, registration and evaluation forms, and a workshop certificate.
DVD disc – The DVD disc in the guide contains video segments for the workshop and PDF masters of handouts. The DVD can be played on a DVD player or a computer and projector. The material can be specially ordered on VHS.
Additional Background Materials – The workshop guide appendix contains useful background material related to discipline, behavior and teaching.
Supplemental Materials – Supplemental materials for Learning Discipline workshop attendees are also available from Family Communications which reinforce and extend the messages of the workshop for attendees.
The Learning Discipline workshop is one component of the Challenging Behaviors Initiative, through which educators and providers learn how to help young children manage anger, control behaviors, and learn the discipline they will need for the rest of their lives. |
