Pets

Mister Rogers helps children know about caring for a pet as he takes a neighbor’s dog for a walk and feeds him.  In Make-Believe there’s a tender nighttime scene as Ana thinks about what kind of pet she wants for her birthday (play video below).  

Pets can play an important role in a child’s life as a trusted and always available confidante and comforter. By helping to care for a pet, children can learn that all living creatures need care.
