A Baby Elephant at the Zoo
Mister Rogers visits the zoo to see a baby elephant and reminds us that it’s curiosity about the world that leads to reading and learning.
On a trip to the zoo Mister Rogers sees a baby elephant and its mother, and visits with people who care for them. He shows how people make backpacks, connecting learning with curiosity and imagination. More than just knowing ABC’s, children want to become readers when we give them a foundation of a love of books, words, language, sounds – and an interest in the world around them.
