Nighttime Fears

In his typically reassuring way, Mister Rogers helps children with nighttime fears through this program.   Using a flashlight, he talks about shadows and introduces the Make-Believe story where Daniel’s fears are soothed by a lullaby.

Description:
Mister Rogers pretends it’s nighttime in his house as he turns out the lights and plays with light and shadows with a flashlight.  After showing a video of how people make flashlights, Mr. McFeely talks about using a flashlight as a young boy to check under his bed and make sure there were no “monsters” there.  It’s nighttime in Make-Believe, and that brings up lots of feelings.  X the Owl is angry when Lady Elaine enters his tree without knocking, and Daniel needs reassurance that nighttime is a safe time.
