The Brothers Karamazov

Visiting with world-famous jugglers, the Brothers Karamazov, Mister Rogers lets children know how important it is to stick with a task, even if it seems difficult – while also recognizing that there are some things we can’t do, no matter how hard we try.

Description:
It’s fun to pretend about being stronger or braver than you are, but what’s best is knowing you’re fine as you are.  Today’s program features a visit with amazing jugglers, “The Flying Karamazov Brothers,” who help Mister Rogers learn to juggle by using scarves.   It takes practice to be able to juggle well!   Mr. McFeely brings a video showing how people make macaroni in a pasta factory, and in Make-Believe X the Owl is giving free flying lessons, but not everyone can learn how to fly.

Parenting tip: Give your child an easy way to try juggling, as Mister Rogers did on this program, by offering some scarves to throw in the air and catch.   That’s a great activity for strengthening hand-eye coordination.
