As part of our ongoing work in professional development, we’ve created a monthly e-newsletter for early childhood educators.  It’s a new opportunity for us to help professionals in the field continue to learn from Fred Rogers and our rich video library.

Hedda Sharapan, our Director of Early Childhood Initiatives, writes our newsletter, drawing on her 43 years working closely with Fred Rogers and FCI.  Her Master’s Degree in Child Development is from the University of Pittsburgh where Fred also studied.  Over the years Hedda has become a nationally-known and highly-respected speaker, offering keynotes and workshops across the country.

Each e-newsletter features a short video clip from our Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood library or from mini-documentary pieces we’ve produced. Through these videos we’re providing examples of Fred Rogers’ approach to early childhood and illustrating how he communicated complex child development theory in clear and understandable ways. We’re also building an accessible archive so that readers can easily find articles and videos that speak to their concerns.  

Our subscriber list keeps growing, and we’re continually hearing that people want to share our e-newsletter with other professionals, with parents and with students.   If you know anybody who would be interested in subscribing, please let them know about it.
