“ It’s okay to be angry, but it’s not okay to hurt.” Fred Rogers believed that helping children channel their natural angry feelings is one of the most important things adults can do for young children.

Our Mad Feelings workshop  has trained thousands of child care providers all across the country. For parents, our FamilyCares material offers helpful hints and sound child development insight. Sometimes singing together helps too.

The United States Department of Justice is funding a Family Communications initiative entitled PA CARES.  It is aimed at helping young children learn to better manage their angry feelings and develop self-control, with the premise that prosocial behaviors are set in early childhood. <read more.


Pilot Project Introduces Sign Language to Mister Rogers Neighborhood

Even though Mister Rogers Neighborhood, like all PBS programming, offers closed captioning, most preschool children cannot yet read the captions that scroll across the bottom of the screen.
