Friendship: Pass It On
As you’re traveling the nation’s highways and byways, you just might happen on this latest tribute to Fred Rogers.
Some months ago the Foundation for a Better Life, a non-profit organization that creates public service campaigns to "communicate the values that make a difference in our communities - values such as honesty, caring, optimism, hard work, and helping others," approached us with a request to include “our favorite neighbor” in their campaign.
As Gary Dixon, the president of The Foundation, said, “The Foundation is honored to have Mr. Rogers as part of this campaign, representing the value of friendship …We along with millions of others in this country and around the world hold him in the highest regard for the positive impact he’s had on children and adults through his thoughtfully produced programs... People from every walk of life always felt confident that they had a friend in Mr. Rogers.”
Now these billboards can be seen in various parts of the country. We’ve heard about sightings in Nevada and New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. As one person wrote: “I'm so happy to see this billboard, it gives me hope.”
Let us know if you sight one in your neighborhood. And "Pass it on!"
