Family Communications is glad to be joining in the Fred Forward Conference hosted by the Fred Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children’s Media at St. Vincent’s College in Latrobe, PA. The March 22-23 invitation-only conference, with the theme of “Creative Curiosity, New Media, and Learning,” will bring together national and regional leaders in education, children’s media, researchers, and policy makers to discuss how technology can be used effectively and innovatively to enhance the lives of children.
The weekend prior to the conference will feature Innovation Showcases, open to the public, highlighting some of the unique programs being developed by Pittsburgh artists, educators, and technologists at two of Pittsburgh’s most fascinating venues.
The award-winning Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh will host special Fred Forward exhibits on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, along with its permanent collection of innovative and interactive displays, including our ever-popular “Welcome to Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” exhibit which we developed with the Museum a decade ago.
Carnegie-Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center (ETC), dedicated to the interdisciplinary field of entertainment technology, will be part of the Innovation Showcase as well.
