Parents and Teachers

This month children will be returning to school or going for the very first time. For children, parents and teachers it’s an exciting time, but like other important times in our lives, there can be mixed feelings for everyone involved.  Encouraging children to talk about what they might be thinking and feeling is one of the best ways to help prepare them for the new experiences ahead. We offer a variety of materials to help with this important transition. Our When Your Child Goes to School booklet  is available by sending a SASE to our office or can be purchased in bulk at special prices. The “Going to School” DVD features two timeless Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood episodes. You’ll also find articles and activities on PBS Parents and Teachers, and there’s a video message from Mister Rogers on our PBS Kids website.
